Hawkesbury City Netball Association is a Non for Profit sporting organisation that has provided the Hawkesbury District and its surrounds a central place for playing Netball for over 50 years.
In the last 20 years Hawkesbury Association has grown in quality and quantity but most of all in mutual enjoyment amongst all competition levels.
Our long-standing President Mrs Jean Peare OAM retired in 1997 after 30 years of valued service. Kay Pettet became President and held this position until 2007, celebrating our 40th anniversary with a most successful reunion dinner. It was also during this time that the association went from the Hawkesbury District to the Hawkesbury City Netball Association and fielded its first State League One team and Life Members Mrs Jean Peare and Mrs Beatrice Bessell were appointed Patrons to the Association.
Life Membership awarded in the last 20 years includes Vivienne Bertenshaw, Sue Orr, Kay Pettet, Barbara Brian, Ann Daniels, Fay Craig, Fran Turnbull, Andy McKay, and Liz Ellis.
Hawkesbury is extremely proud of their representatives in the latest period who include Elizabeth (Liz) Ellis (Sydney Swifts and Australian Captain), Narelle Eather - nee Bertenshaw (Sydney Swifts, Hunter Jaegars and NSW representative), Sally Cain and Victoria Trist (both NSW State representatives).
